Reconstruction and Annex of Piarist Student Dormitory in Litomyšl

The Piarist student dormitory is part of Revitalisation of the Chateau Hill program in Litomyšl, which aims to revive the historical buildings on the hill. The dormitory is located in the immediate vicinity of the Litomyšl chateau and together with the buildings of the old and new brewery defines the area in front of its entrance.

It is an important baroque building which, together with the Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross and the original Piarist school, forms an important counterpoint to the castle on the hill. The dormitory will be used by the Faculty of Restoration of the University of Pardubice not only for teaching, but also for student accommodation. The building also includes a new extension of the faculty library, on the corner of Jirásek and Zámecká Streets, which respects the original building line and the existing height of the neighbouring cornices, thus completing an important urban space with a contemporary building.
